Carbon Disclosure Project.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that works with corporations from across the world to report their Greenhouse Gas Emissions in a standardised format. To date, the CDP has published emissions data for 2400 of the world's largest corporations. Reporting under the CDP is voluntary.

The CDP is a relatively new initiative but is gaining momentum as more investors become aware of the implications of greenhouse gas emissions. There are advantages both to industry as well as investors in benchmarking current corporate performance with potential for emission reductions.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions from corporations that choose to publicly release their information, can be viewed on CDP’s website.

Reporting for 2008 (known as CDP6 – CDP’s sixth request for information) can be submitted online from February 2008 to 31 May 2008 via CDP’s website.

In Australia, the 200 largest companies based on market capitalization (ASX 200) will be sent an information request in the form of a questionnaire.

Responses to CDP6 will be compiled into a report and made publicly available by September 2008.

The CDP5 report for Australia and New Zealand is available here.

If you require assistance with preparation of GHG emissions for CDP6 reporting, please contact Peter Eriksen on (+613) 9574 9642.
